Sunday, May 8, 2022 During the Race for the Cure®, survivors celebrate their victory over breast cancer. Participants support their loved ones in their fight against the most widespread form of cancer among women, and they commemorate all those who lost the fight.
How far is the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure?
The Susan G. Komen 3-Day, frequently referred to as the 3-Day, is a 60-mile walk to raise funds for Susan G. Komen for the Cure and promote awareness to fight breast cancer. Individual participants must raise at least $2,300 to walk 60 miles (96 km) over a three-day weekend.
Is Race for the Cure Cancelled?
Komen® announced the 2021 New Orleans Race for the Cure in-person race event is canceled, like many events in the city. Instead of an in-person race for the sake of the health and safety of participants, the race will now be virtual.

Who is Susan G. Komen and what did she accomplish?
She became known in Peoria as a community leader for her work with several charities and not-for-profit organizations. She was president of the Kickapoo Council of the Girl Scouts and helped establish and build one of the region’s first Girl Scout camps — Camp Tapawingo.
