What is FB in valve?
The “Full port” (FB) type features a bore size (the hole of the ball) matching the bore size of the connected piping. Full port ball valves minimize the pressure drop that is generated by reduced port valves but they are of course more bulky, heavy and expensive.
What is an RB valve?
Automatic Relief/Bleed (RB) Valve releases the air from within the desiccator at a low rate | 1600-60B displayed. Terra’s Automated RB Valve provides safe pressure release and prevents influx of room air | 1600-60B displayed.
Which type of valves is best used with steam?
By far the most widely used valve type for the automatic control of steam processes and applications is the globe valve. It is relatively easy to actuate, it is versatile, and has inherent characteristics well suited to the automatic control needs of steam.
Is it OK to partially open ball valve?
If the valve is left partially open for an extended period under a high pressure drop across the ball, the soft seat may become damaged and may lock the ball in position. Ball valves are best suited for stopping and starting flow but may be used for moderate throttling.
How do I choose a valve type?
The right valve choice means matching the valve’s size to expected flow through the system. Know the chemical compatibility requirements. The valve materials need to be compatible with the gases or liquids flowing through it. Plastic valves usually resist harsh or corrosive chemicals better than metal valves.
Can you use ball valves on steam?
Ball valves are commonly used in steam, water, oil, gas, air, corrosive fluids. They can handle slurries and dusty dry fluids. Ball valves are not used with abrasive and fibrous materials as it poses risk of damage to the seat and plug surface.
Can ball valve be throttled?
Opening or closin a ball valve too quickly can cause fluid hammer. Butterfly valves, like ball valves, operarte with a 1/4 turn. They are generally used for handling large flows of gases or liquids, including slurries, but should not be used for throttling for extended periods of time.
What is FB2 and RB2 check valve?
The ACT ‘FB-2’ and ‘RB-2’ Equalizing Check Valves are manufactured for Standard, H2S and H2S-CO2 service. Can be used as a plug to pressure test tubing.
Why choose RBR valves?
Ever since the establishment of our company, dated back in 1964, RBR has developed into one of the historic and best reputed Italian valve manufacturers, with a significant number of accreditation both National and International.
Why choose Bonomi ball valves?
In 1967 Bonomi was the first producer to make 2 pieces ball valves, which is a system currently used by every valve producer. We boast almost 50 years of specialization in the production of ball valves and components for plumbing installations in the relevant ecology and home comfort markets.
What is the difference between the RB2 and FB-2?
Both models are run into a Nipple Profile and hold pressure from above only. The FB-2’ model lands on the top of an F Nipple Profile seal bore. The RB2 model seats on the Bottom No-Go Shoulder of an ‘R’ Nipple. A ‘C-1’ Running Tool is used to run both valve assemblies.
