What is card condition?
The condition of a card is determined by the number and extent of imperfections that a card exhibits. Imperfections are any atypical printing or manufacturing defects, and any wear or damage to the card after that printing process.
What makes a card mint condition?
Cards in Near Mint condition are equivalent to a fresh pack. They only have slight imperfections such as 1–3 rounding or soft corners and slightly rough edges. Any damage aside from this would automatically lower the card’s condition.
What PSA grade is lightly?
According to tcgplayer standards, they suggest near mint to be what I would consider psa 8-10 quality. Lightly played maybe 5-7.
What is NM condition?
Near Mint to Mint (NM-Mint) = A Near Mint to Mint condition card can range from Near Mint to Mint condition and we would grade most of these cards an 8/10 or 9/10. NM-Mint condition cards may have a few minor imperfections such as nicks on edges or light scratches.
What is the best card condition?
Good (Gd), Fair (Fr), Poor (Pr) Good is the best and Poor is the worst. A Good card has significant wear, such as severe corner rounding, creasing, fading, staining or other problems. Altered or retouched cards will fall into this category. A Good card still retains some attractiveness.
Is PSA 9 good?
PSA is the premier grading company, and many collectors don’t even buy other grading companies. But, as you know, PSA does not have half grades on cards. So Ins, a PSA preference means you’re most likely looking at a 9 or 10 on modern cards. After all, lower grades are often worth less than raw cards.

Is Beckett or PSA better?
Firstly, PSA is a bit more expensive and it takes longer for them to grade your cards. However, their graded cards usually sell better and for more than BGS cards. On the other hand, BGS is faster and less expensive and has a more complex grading system. Their cases and labels are often preferred to PSA’s.

What do you think about ex condition cards?
Their ex condition cards tend to be in very good condition- I have a trop that I had to spend a bit of time with to discern how it was not actually a near mint card. I buy from them a lot, from 50 cent cards, to some dual lands. I have always been incredibly impressed with their grading.
