What are 96 well plates used for?
96-well microplates are used for antibiotic screens, cell-based assays and screening compounds. The flat bottom shape is ideal for microscopic and optical measurements. Our plates are high quality for consistent and reliable results.

How many rows and columns are in a 96 well plate?
For those who do not know, a 96 well plate has eight alphabetically labeled rows (A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H) and 12 numerically labeled columns (1:12) and a 384 well plate has 16 alphabetically labeled rows (A:P) and 24 numerically labeled columns (1:24).
What is 96 well plate made of?
96-well plates with transparent bottom are manufactured out of white or black polystyrene, with a transparent bottom made of polystyrene. 96-well plates are available in transparent, white pigmented and black pigmented plates.
How much media does a 96-well plate use?
For any cell type you can use a minimum of 100ul to a maximum of 200ul culture medium per well in a 96-well plate.
Are all 96-well plates the same size?
Corning 96-well polystyrene microplates have plate dimensions (length x width x height) of 127.76 x 85.48 x 14.22 mm that meet standard ANSI/SBS footprint dimensions for microplates. Corning tissue culture-treated microplates have the same surface treatment used on other Corning culture vessels.
How deep is a 96-well plate?
96-Well 600µL Polypropylene Deep Well Plates Features 0.6mL deep well plate ANSI/SLAS 1-2004:…
How do you incubate a 96 well plate?
Pipette 25 µL protease-inhibitor-supplemented Cell Extraction Buffer into each well. Incubate the plate on ice for 30 minutes. Thoroughly mix the contents of each well by pipetting up and down 5–6 times. A multi-channel pipette is desirable for this application.
How many suspension cells are in a 96 well plate?
I normally suggest not to go for more than 1,00,000 cells per well in a 96 well plate. However, if the incubation time is too long or the cells grow faster, you need to go down further in seeding the cells. You can increase the culture volume to 200 microliters if you want to increase the cell number.
