Is Newcastle City Library free?
Anybody can join Newcastle Libraries for free and it costs nothing to borrow books, ebooks or spoken word cassettes/CDs. Non-members are welcome to use any of our reference facilities for free. Access to the internet and scanners via the People’s Network computers is free.
How do I borrow books from Newcastle library?
Call us on 4974 5300. When the item is available, you will be notified by your choice of sms or email message. There is no fee for using this service. If we do not have a copy of the item you wish to borrow you can submit a purchase suggestion.

Join online The online joining form requires your email address and date of birth. After completing the online form you will be sent an email that includes your new PIN that can be used to access BorrowBox or the online catalogue.
Does Newcastle Library have a printer?
We do charge for printing and copying services and you can find our current fees and charges here. Scanning is free! You can now use your Library card to pay for printing and copying at Newcastle Libraries branch.
How do I borrow books from the Library UON?
Your University Identification card is your Library card for borrowing and electronic access. Library items can be borrowed via the self-check machines or by visiting the Service Zones. You need a library PIN to request and renew items, access Course Readings or your online Library account MyLibrary.
