Can you use ribbon for shoe laces?

Your shoelaces are longer than you might think, so if you’re worried about purchasing enough ribbon, you may want to measure your laces before you buy. As with most crafting, it’s better to have too much than too little. You can always use excess ribbon for another project (like the shoe clips below!).

  1. Place metal anchor screw over lace tip and secure using the super glue provided or by crimping the end.
  2. Attach the Aglet by screwing it onto the metal anchor screw on the lace tip.
  3. Use the provided super glue for a more permanent hold (highly recommended)

Instructions:

  1. Gather supplies as listed above.
  2. Cut (2) fabric strips of 1.5″ L x Width of Fabric (selvage to selvage).
  3. Fold strip in half right sides together, with the long raw edges matching up.
  4. Sew along long edge, using a 3/8″ seam allowance.
  5. Attach a small safety pin to one edge of the fabric strip.
