Is the Yamaha XS650 a good bike?
Other than a lot of vibration the bike is great for riding to and from work (about 50 miles a day). It could handle better, but is nothing to complain about (at least not for $50) This bike is a classic… I plan to ride it for a long time and it looks great in my little collection.

Are bobbers uncomfortable?
With a Bobber though there’s no hiding from the air resistance and after a while it does wear you down. Find yourself riding into a headwind as well and it’s quickly both tiring and uncomfortable. Long 70 mph motorway rides on a Bobber would not be my idea of an enjoyable trip.
Are bobbers good for touring?
No, it’s not the ideal motorcycle for road trips but a Bobber, like most styles of motorcycle are all about compromise. Personally I’m happy to accept a Bobbers impracticalities in exchange for it’s looks. That’s why the statement seat will be staying on for the trip should we ever be allowed to leave the island again!
Are Bobbers harder to ride?
If you try to ride on a sensitive bike, then you might become discouraged by the experience. A good Bobber is going to be able to help you feel like you are in control at all times. They are just so much easier to handle than many other motorcycle styles.
