The Form 990 is publicly available and can be found on the organization’s page or on nonprofit databases such as GuideStar.
How do I check 501C3 status?
To verify a nonprofit’s 501C3 status, go to the IRS Select Check website and search their name or Employer Identification Number. You can also check the IRS’s Revocation database to make sure the nonprofit’s status hasn’t been revoked.
How do I get a copy of my 990 form?
If an organization wants a complete copy of its Form 990 (one that includes donor information), it can file Form 4506, Request for Copy of Tax Return. There is a fee of $57.00 for each return copy.
Are 941 forms public record?
