The FA Level 1 in Coaching Football course has now been re-developed to be delivered through a more digital format. We have curated the right elements for this course to ensure all learners have the best learning experience to gain their qualification.
What can you do with FA Level 1?
Level 1 is an entry level course open to anyone over 16, meaning you need no prior experience to enter. While The FA say Level 3 course is for “Coaches working with a team of U-14s upwards in an 11 vs. 11 format.” Whereas with level 4+ you can work as a manager/coach in the professional game, or Academy Manager.
What does FA Level 1 consist of?
Level 1 is made up of seven workshops that look at those key elements of the DNA and an eighth which looks at safeguarding and emergency aid. The course has 33 contact hours with FA tutors, as well as a set number of written tasks that need to be completed away from the course.

How long does it take to complete FA Level 1?
It takes two years to complete and can only be done if you are working with or for a national FA. The course is centred around two parts, which are split into two-week sessions that are based at Lilleshall Football Academy (National Centre) with various other sessions, including distance learning and support sessions.
How long does it take to complete FA Level 1 coaching?

What can you do with a Level 1 FA coaching badge?
At the most basic level, you’ve got your FA Level 1 badge which allows you to work with players aged seven and up. That’s followed by the FA Level 2 which is a longer qualification to complete, then the UEFA B licence (Level 3).

How do I book The new level 1 in coaching football course?
The Introduction to Coaching Football (I2CF) course replaced the old Level 1 in Coaching Football course during 2021. The new course is now booked and delivered centrally via the FA in an online format. This is a change for RAF learners who used to book directly through the RAF FA.
