We first started designing and building boots after an eight day hunt in the Mackenzie Mountains of the Northwest Territories in 2002. The merciless country tested us in unimaginable ways, and I was winning the fight, until my feet made me want to lay down and die.

Are Kenetrek gaiters snake proof?
I personally prefer Kenetrek gaiters for a standard weather resistant gaiter. Turtle skin makes the best snake proof gaiter. Both cover your whole shin and calf. These are the areas I prefer to have coverage on against brush.
How should pac boots fit?
The boot should be comfortable, but not snug, just covering your foot without any constriction. Don’t worry if they seem rediculously big. You don’t want big air gaps in the boot either though. If undecided on fit, error on the side of having a little too much room than not enough.
