How do you do KenKen?
KenKen’s rules are straightforward: Fill in each square cell in the puzzle with a number between 1 and the size of the grid. For example, in a 4×4 grid, use the numbers 1, 2, 3, & 4. Use each number exactly once in each row and each column.
Is KenKen harder than Sudoku?
To the outsider, playing KenKen looks similar to Sudoku since you can use only one number once in any row or column. However, KenKen allows you a lot of flexibility on the type of puzzle whereas Sudoku only has varying levels of objective difficulty.
Is KenKen like Sudoku?
KenKen puzzles are a great way for children to gain practice with single digit operations while also gaining experience with problem solving and logical reasoning. KenKens are similar to Sudoku puzzles, but with operations.
How does a KenKen work?
The Rules of KenKen Your goal is to fill in the whole grid with numbers, making sure no numbers is repeated in any row or column. In a 3×3 puzzle, use the numbers 1–3. In a 4×4 puzzle, use the numbers 1–4, and so on. e.g. In this cage, the math operation to use is addition, and the numbers must add up to 5.

We see the teacher refuse to meet the gaze of one young pupil when he hands back his puzzle, the grid all filled in. “Nervous air is necessary,” the teacher says. “I enjoy nervous air.” The teacher, Tetsuya Miyamoto, is the inventor of KenKen, the puzzle that his students are laboring over.

What is the game KenKen?
KenKen and KenDoku are trademarked names for a style of arithmetic and logic puzzle invented in 2004 by Japanese math teacher Tetsuya Miyamoto, who intended the puzzles to be an instruction-free method of training the brain. The name derives from the Japanese word for cleverness (賢, ken, kashiko(i)).
