What is candidal meningitis?
Candidal meningitis is a rare infectious disease that usually leads to substantial morbidity and mortality. We present a case of candidal meningitis refractory to systemic antifungal therapy (amphotericin B and fluconazole).

Candida meningitis usually responds to therapy with intravenous amphotericin B alone or in combination with oral flucytosine. The use of flucytosine is controversial; however, most reports support its use in meningitis.
