So, I called my mom (Johnny calls her Nana) and asked her to join us for some AWESOME bowling. The kind of bowling where everyone’s a winner. Especially me (I get to watch Johnny bowl like a pro, as if he bowls every Saturday or something). Truth be told, I used to be a bowler. No lie. I even got a $500 scholarship for it! LOL!!!!!! I am a huge fan of bowling and wish I had more time to gather up friends for a night at the alley.

Here are some photos of Johnny and Nana. If you have kids, TAKE THEM BOWLING! A lot of the bowling alleys have these ramps and bumpers for the gutter. Like I said, everyone’s a winner.

This morning, I woke up determined to make this the best birthday for my favorite little guy.

But I totally messed up.

My plan was to take him to Enchanted Island, at Encanto Park. We arrived there so pumped to ride on the roller coaster, the train….EVERYTHING! We skipped to the entrance….and BAM. A “Closed” sign hung on the gate. I was more devastated than he was. He said, “Oh…that’s just too sad”. (I felt like Chevy Chase in Lampoon’s Vacation when he punched the moose in the nose at Wolly World….don’t worry…..I didn’t punch anything).

Determined to fix this, I googled for local fire stations.

Seriously….the firefighters at Phoenix Fire Dept Station 9 are AWESOME!! As soon as we arrived, Tyler (one of the firefighters) made Johnny feel like a special guest.

The captain came out and asked if Johnny and I wanted to take a ride in the fire truck. YES!!

After a bunch of high-fives, fist-bumps and hand-shakes (and a big thank you from us), Tyler asks if Johnny wants to use the fire hose. This crew is amazing and I can’t thank them enough for making Johnny’s day.
